Best Under ₦30,000 Smartphones in Nigeria

There are many factors to consider when buying a new smartphone; price is an essential part. The potential of the Nigerian smartphone market is enormous,  there over 130 million mobile telephone subscribers according to this article on Punch Newspaper website. It is also estimated that about 30 per cent of Nigeria subscriber base use smartphones. According to GfK report released in September 2014,  Nigeria listed in the top 10 largest tech device growth markets. The Nigerian  market is worth $5.1 billion in 2014, it is expected to worth $5.7 billion which represents 13% year on year and 0.7 growth.

GfK’s forecasts show that, worldwide, the smartphone continues to grow strongly, in terms of volume of sales, increasing by 18% for 2015.  With smartphone processors getting cheaper but more powerful, it is expected that the competition in 2015 will get stiffer. Established brands will have to battle it out with makers of affordable smartphones especially in emerging market like Nigeria. Kelvin Walsh of GfK explains, “Our forecasts show seven new entries in the top 10 smartphone markets for 2015, in terms of growth by value – and these are all emerging markets, which have overtaken developed markets where smartphone saturation is nearing completion.”

Nigeria is one of these 7 new countries, we expect the likes of Tecno, Infinix, Injoo, Lenovo and possibly Microsoft, Samsung, Hauwei and other high-end manufacturers bombard us with affordable phones in 2015.
