end-time prophecies

Are the Biblical Signs of the End Times Already Coming True?

No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father“. Jesus said this in Matthew 24:36 and Acts 1:7 during the 40 days period he was on earth after his resurrection to answer. The disciples with him were asking that Jesus was about to restore the kingdom of Israel. This article examines some biblical signs of the end times.

According to the Christian Bible, the world has been prophesied to end with many signs to herald its arrival. The prophecies were made by holy prophets who saw visions of what would happen at the end of the world. These prophecies were made to serve as a warning to Christians and everyone to beware and keep watch.

You must have had Christian evangelists walk up to you preaching salvation, about the messiah, the savior of the world; yes, it’s about him. It’s about the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and if you are not on his side.

The end time period is prophesied to follow a season of tribulation, hardship and sufferings for Christians worldwide. The anti-Christ will rise and raise hell on earth. Most believers think these prophecies seem to be coming true but are they? We want to help answer those questions plaguing everyone’s mind with what we have gathered so far.

Let us begin with Bible prophesies that have been fulfilled. The bible records events, stories, prophesies, eye-witness accounts chronicling the beginning to the end of the world. Events foretold therein during the generations have been fulfilled in the Bible and modern times. If prophecies foretold about certain things are already coming true, who is to say the specific end time signs will not inevitably lead to the world’s ending?

1. The rebirth of Israel

Bible verse: Isaiah 66:8

Isaiah was a Hebrew prophet believed to have lived about 700 years before Jesus Christ. He was born in Jerusalem, Israel and was the prophet who prophesized the coming of the Messiah Jesus Christ. He is the author of the book of Isaiah, named after him in the Bible. He predicted numerous past events for his time and future events far beyond his lifetime.

The modern-day rebirth of the nation of Israel on May 14, 1948, was considered an outright ‘miracle’. That is, it could only have been achieved by divine intervention. The prophet Isaiah prophesied this when he asked:

“Shall the earth be made to give birth in one day? Or shall a nation be born at once? For as soon as Zion was in labour, she gave birth to her children.” (Isaiah 66:8)

Isaiah 66:8

Most surviving Jews were on the brink of starvation, and few wanted to return to their homes. Their neighbours never really accepted them and likely never would. The Nazis regarded the Jews as vermin slated for extermination, so they unified and made their own nation.

The prophet Ezekiel also spoke of such a time when Israel would say as a people: “Our bones are dry, our hope is lost, and we ourselves are cut off!” Yet God declared that all was not lost. At their lowest moment, He would assuredly “cause you to come up from your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel.” (Ezekiel 37:11-12)

2. Worldwide return of Jews

Bible Verse: Isaiah 43:5-6

Do not be afraid, for I am with you;
I will bring your children from the east
and gather you from the west.
I will say to the north, ‘Give them up!’
and to the south, ‘Do not hold them back.’
Bring my sons from afar
and my daughters from the ends of the earth

Isaiah 43:5-6

Another bible prophesy that has been fulfilled is the worldwide return of Jews to the holy land. After the nation of the state of Israel was created, it was only natural for Jews to return and rebuild their home.

The North (Soviet Union) and South (Ethiopia) tried to prevent Jews from returning, but the government eventually allowed them to return. In 1991 many Jews from Ethiopia returned to Israel. Very prophetic according to the Bible after 1,900 years of separation.

3. The return of Shekel

Ezekiel 45:12-16

“The shekel shall be twenty gerahs; twenty shekels, twenty-five shekels, and fifteen shekels shall be your mina. This is the offering which you shall offer: you shall give one-sixth of an ephah from a homer of wheat, and one-sixth of an ephah from a homer of barley. The ordinance concerning oil, the bath of oil, is one-tenth of a bath from a kor. A kor is a homer or ten baths, for ten baths are a homer. And one lamb shall be given from a flock of two hundred, from the rich pastures of Israel. These shall be for grain offerings, burnt offerings, and peace offerings, to make atonement for them,” says the Lord GOD. All the people of the land shall give this offering for the prince in Israel.”

Ezekiel 45:12-16

The prophet Ezekiel foretold the restoration of the shekel and that the Jews will pay their taxes in shekel. Shekel coins were invented in the 7th Century B.C.

It was revived in the 20th century in 1969 by the Israeli government when the significantly devalued Israeli pound was announced to be replaced by the shekel, or sheqel. The new notes and coins finally appeared in 1980. The new coins even featured the Omer cup in reference to the shekels of the First Jewish Revolt.

4. The desert shall bloom

Those who come He shall cause to take root in Jacob; Israel shall blossom and bud, and fill the face of the world with fruit.

Isaiah 27:6

Israel is now a major food producer of the Mideast, exporting fruits worldwide. There are greenhouses all over the deserts in Israel.

Israel will grow more than one crop a year

“On that day I will raise up the tabernacle of David, which has fallen down, and repair its damages; I will raise up its ruins, and rebuild it as in the days of old; That they may possess the remnant of Edom, and all the Gentiles who are called by My name,” says the LORD who does this thing. Behold, the days are coming,” says the LORD, “When the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him who sows seed; the mountains shall drip with sweet wine, and all the hills shall flow with it.”

Amos 9:11-13

The Jews grow more than one crop a year; that is an understatement. They produce several crops a year. Due to advanced irrigation in Israel, this is what is happening today.

5. Israel prevailing over her enemies

Bible Verse: Isaiah 41:12-14

In that day will I make the governors of Judah like an hearth of fire among the wood, and like a torch of fire in a sheaf; and they shall devour all the people round about, on the right hand and on the left: and Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place, even in Jerusalem.

Zechariah 12:6

Israel’s rebirth in May 1948 happened just three years after the Holocaust. The Jewish people suddenly arose and re-established sovereignty in their ancient homeland. This was the time of their greatest weakness, but the resurrection power of God was at work.

After its founding leader David Ben-Gurion declared independence for Israel, it was immediately attacked by five invading Arab armies. These Arab forces were armed, trained, and in some cases even commanded by officers from some of the world’s major powers. Put simply, the frail Holocaust survivors arriving from Europe were thrown straight into battle. The Arab leaders had vowed to “drive the Jews into the sea”, but somehow, Israel prevailed.

6. Revival of the Hebrew language

Bible Verse: Zephaniah 3:8-9

For then I will restore to the peoples a pure language, that they all may call on the name of the LORD, to serve Him with one accord.

Zephaniah 3:9

During the dispersion of Israel, Hebrew as a spoken language was lost among the people except for Biblical scholars. In the Diaspora, pure Hebrew became mixed with German (Yiddish) and Spanish (Ladino). In 1982 Hebrew became the official language of Israel.

Zephania Elineazer Ben Yahuda, the father of modern Hebrew, dedicated his life to the pure Hebrew language inventing thousands of new words based on Hebrew root words. Now it is the language that binds Israelis together despite their coming from different nations. Israelis now can read original Biblical scrolls without translation.

7. One world religion

Bible Verse: Revelation 17:1-2

With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.

Revelations 17:2

This scripture describes a “great harlot” that will be the world’s religion under the influence of the Anti-Christ. It is interpreted to mean that there will be a one-world religion in the last days.

The One World Religion Headquarters is set to open this year, 2022. The headquarters will be called The Abrahamic Family House and is being built on an island in the middle eastern city of Abu Dhabi.

Pope Francis and Sunni Muslim leader Sheikh Ahmen al-Tayeb signed a global peace covenant called the Document of Human Fraternity for World Peace. The stated purpose of this is to bring understanding and tolerance among the faiths. This development is a nightmare to many Christian folks that this one-world religion will promote liberal views which count as sin.

Issues such as homosexuality, the age of accountability, abortion, marriage are shifting very far from the Christian roots and doctrines. It will demand “inclusivity” and “tolerance”, which some churches, including the roman catholic institution, are now embracing.

8. Drying of the Tigris and Euphrates River

Biblical verse: Rev 16: 12-21

And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.

Rev 16:12

In recent years, the river Euphrates and Tigris in Iran and Iraq have started drying up. With the river drying up, fishing has become a thing of the past, affecting the lives of villages living around the river basin.

According to the scripture here, the rivers would dry up, opening the way for the Kings of the East, which is going to cross the Euphrates river with ease. This army could be an alliance or whatever, but it will invade Israel but will not prevail.

9. Great Sign in the skies

Bible verse: Rev 12

And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;

Luke 21:25

Jesus speaking in Luke warns Jerusalem about the signs of his second coming. There shall be signs in the stars, sun, moon etc. In coincidence to this warning, John revealed in Revelations 12 about a stellar arrangement of celestial bodies that will occur during the end time.

A great sign appeared in the sky, a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of 12 stars. She was with child and wailed aloud in pain as she labored to give birth … She gave birth to a son, a male child, destined to rule all the nations with an iron rod.

Rev 12

On September 23, 2017, it happened. The zodiac constellation Virgo — “a woman clothed with the sun”. The moon was at the feet of Virgo — “with the moon under her feet”. The ‘nine’ stars of the zodiac constellation Leo, plus three planets (Mercury, Venus, and Mars), was at the head of Virgo — “on her head a crown of 12 stars”. The planet Jupiter was centered in Virgo, and, as the weeks passed after September 23, Jupiter left Virgo to the east — “She was with child and wailed aloud in pain as she labored to give birth“.

However, this arrangement has been found to occur once in 1,000 years. It has happened at least four times, in 1827, 1483, 1293, and 1056. It doesn’t take away the mysterious nature of it.

“The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the Lord,”

Joel 2:31

The prophet Joel prophecies that the moon will turn red during the last days, and it’s coming true. The above image was from footage captured by India’s lunar probe, Chandrayaan-1, which orbited the moon in 2008. Numerous discoveries have been found from the data gathered over the years.

One of them clearly shows that the moon is turning red which is weird and impossible. According to scientists, the moon is getting rusty, and they are trying to find a good explanation. NASA and the Hawai’i Institute of Geophysics were baffled because there’s no oxygen on the moon, one of the two essential elements to create rust, the other being water.

By now, if you are still reading this article, good job. You must agree that the pieces of evidence we have highlighted so far are too spot-on for comfort.

10. Wars and rumors of wars

Bible Verse: Matthew: 24:6

And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

Matthew 24:6

War has always been a human culture throughout the ages. In all the periods of civilization, war has always been waged within and without cities, kingdoms, states etc. The first and second world wars were the most destructive wars ever fought in history. And like it sounds, the world was at war with itself.

Advertisements

The invention of the atomic bomb, which had the most significant impact in ending the second war, has only developed. Most nations have now developed nuclear weapons just like how swords, guns and grenades got around. It is not surprising that nations are warring against themselves, especially nuclear weapons. What happened in Afghanistan, Syria, Libya, Iraq etc., is still the tip of the iceberg. Russia and Ukraine have now taken the center stage of international conflict due to almost forming an alliance with NATO.

The truth remains that war will always be inevitable, especially with the development of weapons of mass destruction.

Final note

These are signs foretold of the end leading to the earth’s last days. The earth’s final days is a period of tribulation, pain and suffering on earth, leading to judgement, rewards and eternal punishments. Those who do not believe in God through Yeshua (Jesus Christ) will perish, but those who believe shall be saved. Or you may choose to believe that there is no God and that these are just coincidences and nothing more.
